Tyongf General Streaming Guide
This is targeted at international music streaming platforms E.g. Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal
Guidelines for Youtube MVs are separate.
Unless you cannot afford it, consider getting a premium subscription on your target streaming service for the short term. Remember that premium streams count more to charts. E.g. the Billboard Global Chart counts:
One track sale = 200 premium streams = 900 ad-supported
If SM enables the option, pre-save Taeyong’s solo album on the services available
-
Spotify (pre-save)
-
Apple (pre-add)
-
Amazon Music (pre-save)
-
Deezer (pre-save)
If the music service has both a download + a streaming component (e.g. iTunes + Apple Music), please delete any downloaded tracks that you intend to be focus-streaming, otherwise your streams will not be counted.
General principles of streaming
-
Don’t Use a VPN (your streams may be filtered)
-
Use only one account per app per device!
-
Stream a Track for a Minimum of 30 Seconds
-
Where possible, stream Song(s) From Official Editorial Playlists. (This helps to maintain/improve their playlisting)
-
Don’t Mute the Sound.
-
Many guides advise keeping the volume at 50% or higher on the app settings.
-
-
Do Not Loop Songs. Create playlists with 2–3 songs in between your target song, preferably including different artists.
Share the target song from the music app to SNS platforms. Some services track this (e.g. Spotify for the Viral 50 charts), and it helps the song reach a wide audience + contributes to Billboard Social/Hot Trending charts.
Bonus: Run auto-Shazam when you stream as often as you can (see Shazam guide).
